THE HISTORY OF RAMEN
One of my absolute favourite things in life is food - I like to eat food, look at food, smell food, draw food, touch.....errr....I'm sure you get the point. And my favourite kind of carbs? Noods, of course!
When Creative Director, Louie, put me on this project, I cried from joy (internally) - It was literally my dream job.
I had been practicing drawing food for a while in my personal time and took this opportunity to infuse all the deliciousness I could into my designs from start to finish, into every single bowl.

INITIAL STYLE EXPLORATIONS

FINAL STYLEFRAMES
The client decided to go with the flat textural style in the final video, and also an alternative color palette!

PROCESS

I started each illustration with a cleaned up sketch based off the storyboards, then moved on to rough colors.
I then built the base shapes in Adobe Illustrator (as the pen tool was much more intuitive there),
before exporting the layers into Adobe photoshop for texturing and final effects.
In some cases, I created 3D objects in Cinema 4D as a base.
(Eg. the street scene) to get an accurate perspective for the shot.
